Green Flash-created Ynot IPA begins pouring in Hampton Roads today

Green Flash IPA YNot

Today’s the first day you can drink Ynot IPA, created by Green Flash Brewing Co. just for the local chain, Ynot Pizza & Italian Cuisine.

Green Flash, founded in San Diego, selected Virginia Beach for its second brewing facility, and expects to open there by 2016. The company plans to break ground at the 58,000-square foot facility on General Booth Boulevard in fall 2014.

The ale is the first of Green Flash’s locals-only beer releases. You can find it on tap only in one of Ynot’s five locations in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake and Norfolk, and at the Green Flash Tasting Room in San Diego.

The release coincides with Virginia Craft Beer Month and is available only in August.

The hoppy session IPA has a lower level of alcohol than other ales.

“We’re truly honored to team up with Green Flash,” said Tony DiSilvestro, co-owner of Ynot Pizza & Italian Cuisine.

“Their investment in this community will create new and exciting opportunities for our area, and we’re happy to help welcome them to the neighborhood by serving this special new release, named in our honor.''
