Alewerks Coffeehouse Stout

Coffeehouse Stout

Coffee Milk Stout
ABV: 5.4 percent
IBU: 15

Appearance: If you poured this beer into an espresso cup, it would easily fool anyone. It is a deep black color with swirls of brown froth gracing the top.

Aroma: This beer smells like a coffeehouse, with hints of black coffee, steamed milk, and baked goods.

Taste: All of the attributes of this beer point to a big coffee flavor, when in reality it is very subtle. It appears more as a roasty bitterness. The lactose comes across like a hint of cream in your coffee, adding a touch of sweetness.

Mouthfeel: This beer has a silky and smooth mouthfeel with a bitter linger.

Drinkability: Alewerks uses Guatemala Antigua coffee for this winter seasonal. It is a great variation on a milk stout.

Pairing: Barely Buzzed cheese or a Bakehouse at Chelsea scone.
